Virtual Network Interface Cards (vNICs)
You can configure OpenStack Cloud Instances with UCT-V to use one or more virtual network interface cards (vNICs).
■
Single vNIC: If the instance has only one interface, UCT-V sends mirrored traffic through that same interface. |
■
Multiple vNICs: If the instance has two or more interfaces, |
■
UCT-V can monitor any number. |
■
You can send mirrored traffic through any of these interfaces or through a separate, non-monitored interface. |
■
When you add multiple interfaces to the controller, the system uses a floating IP to designate the first interface as the management interface. |
Note: vNICs apply only when you install UCT-V on the monitored instances. They do not apply to OVS Mirroring or OVS Mirroring + DPDK configurations.
