Create a Monitoring Domain
GigaVUE-FM provides you the flexibility to connect to multiple clusters.
Note: To configure the monitoring domain and launch the fabric components in Nutanix Prism, you must be a user with Admin role or a user with write access to the Cluster Management category.
To create a Monitoring Domain:
- Go to Inventory > Virtual> Nutanix and then click Monitoring Domain.
- On the Monitoring Domain page, click the New button. The Monitoring Domain Configuration page appears.
- Enter or select the appropriate information as shown in the following table.

Monitoring Domain
Enter a monitoring domain name.
Connection Alias
An alias used to identify the monitoring domain.
Use Legacy V Series Mode By default, V Series 2 is enabled. Enable this option, if you want to use the legacy V Series Mode Nutanix Prism Central IP
Enter the Nutanix Prism Central IP address.
Note: To ensure the validity of Nutanix Prism central certificates issued by a trusted Certificate Authority (CA), you must enable the Trust Store. Refer to the Trust Store for more detailed information.
Nutanix Prism Central Username
Enter the username.
Nutanix Prism Central Password
Enter the password.
Cluster
Select the cluster where the GigaVUE V Series Proxy and GigaVUE® V Series Node are to be deployed.
Traffic Acquisition tunnel MTU
Enter the Tunnel MTU size.
- Click Save. The Nutanix Fabric Launch Configuration page appears.
Ensure that all V Series Nodes within a single Monitoring Domain are running the same version. Mixing different versions in the same Monitoring Domain may lead to inconsistencies when configuring Monitoring Session traffic elements. |
Similarly, when upgrading a V Series Node, ensure that the GigaVUE‑FM version is the same or higher than the V Series Node version. |

Generate Sysdump | Select this option to generate the System dump files. Sysdumps are also generated automatically by the process manager when there is a crash. These Sysdump files can be used to troubleshoot the system. | ||||||

To view and manage the generated sysdump files, select the GigaVUE V Series Node and click the Sysdump tab in the lower pane.
To view the certificates associated with the fabric, select the fabric nodes and click the Certificates tab in the lower pane.
