Running Configuration Jump Start

This section describes the configuration jump-start script that runs the first time you log in to GigaVUE-FM. After running the configuration script, you can log in to the GigaVUE-FM UI from a Web browser or a remote console such as TeraTerm or PuTTY to use the command line interface (CLI) to re-run jump-start or use other CLI commands.

The following are the steps in the configuration jump-start and an explanation of each step.

■   Hostname?

Provide a unique hostname for GigaVUE-FM. The hostname may contain letters, numbers, periods (.), and hyphens (-), but may not begin with a hyphen. No other special characters are permitted. This will also appear as part of the command line prompt after jump-start completes.

■   Use DHCP on eth0 interface?

The default for this step in the configuration is no. If you answer yes. GigaVUE-FM acquires the DHCP address from the local server.

■   Primary IP address and masklen?

Select Yes or No to mask you Primary address.

■   Default gateway?

Provide the default gateway address for reaching the management domain.

■   Primary DNS server?

Provide the default gateway address for reaching the management domain.

■   Domain name?

Enter a domain name to use instead of the IP address to open the GigaVUE-FM login page. For example, fmappliance.com.

■   Admin password?

This sets the password for the admin user in GigaVUE-FM, which you will use to log in to for the first time. The default is admin123A!. It is highly recommended that you change the default password.

■   Additional Domain Name Server IP addresses?

Enter the address of any additional name servers required. This must be provided as a set of IP addresses with spaces. For example, 10.10.10.10 11.11.11.11.

■   Additional DNS Domains?

You can add multiple DNS domains by entering the names configuration with spaces. For example, abc.com def.com.

■   Enable NTP?

If you respond yes to this option, you will be asked to provide the address of an NTP server and its NTP version number.

When you have completed the steps in the configuration jump-start, you can change any of the configurations by entering the step number. Otherwise, press enter to complete the configuration.

After configuration is complete, you can log in to the GigaVUE-FM application by going to your Web browser and entering the IP address specified during configuration jump-start in the URL field. When the GigaVUE-FM login page opens, enter admin in the user name field and the password you entered in step 7 of the configuration jump-start.
