Install Gigamon Glimpse using OVA file on ESXi VMware vCenter
Gigamon Glimpse package is distributed as an OVA file. Download the Gigamon Glimpse OVA file from the Gigamon Community Portal and use the vSphere Client to install the Gigamon Glimpse OVA file. Follow the steps below to deploy the OVA file:
Log in to the VMware vCenter web interface.
In the vSphere Client, select an inventory object that is a valid parent object of a virtual machine, such as a data center, cluster, or ESXi host.
Right-click the ESXi Host or data center on which you want to deploy Gigamon Glimpse, and then select Deploy OVF Template. The Deploy OVF Template wizard opens.
In the Select an OVF template page of the Deploy OVF Template wizard, choose one of the following options:

URL—Enter the URL from where you want to download and install the OVF package. By default, the minimum specification URL will be used for Gigamon Glimpse. (Optional) To upgrade from minimum specification to the standard specification you should increase the virtual disk size. Follow the steps below:
Note: To upgrade to standard specification, increase the allocation in Hard Disk 3.

After increasing the values to the standard specification, power on the VM.
b.
Local file—Click Browse to navigate to the OVA file available on your local machine, and then select the OVA file.
Click Next. The Select a name and folder page of the Deploy OVF Template wizard appears.
Specify a unique name for the Gigamon Glimpse instance, and then select a location and host to which you want to deploy the Gigamon Glimpse instance.
Click Next. The Select a compute resource page of the Deploy OVF Template wizard appears.
Select a destination compute host for the OVF deployment. The Deploy OVF Template wizard performs a validation to ensure that the selected host has all the resources required for the Gigamon Glimpse deployment.
Click Next. The Review details page of the Deploy OVF Template wizard appears.
Verify the OVF template details, and then click Next. The Select storage page of the Deploy OVF Template wizard appears.
From the Select virtual disk format drop-down list, select Thick Provisioning as the format for the virtual disks and provisioning.
Select the datastore where the virtual machine’s files will be stored.
Click Next. The Select networks page of the Deploy OVF Template wizard appears.
Set network mapping by doing either of the following, depending on how you are deploy, and then click Next:

If you are not deploying on a standalone ESXi host, the Network Mapping displays under Source Networks. Use the drop-down lists to assign the correct Destination Network to the source network.
o
If you are deploying on a standalone ESXi host, the network mapping is set automatically by assigning the destination network to any destination Network. In the case of multiple port groups, you need to manually assign the destination network to any destination network VM Network.
The IP protocol remains set to its default configuration, IPv4.

vSphere Client: Customize Template
Click Next. The Ready to Complete page of the Deploy OVF Template wizard appears.
Verify that all the settings are correct, and then click Finish. The Recent Tasks pane of the vSphere Client Home page shows the progress of the deployment operation. When the operation is completed, you have successfully deployed a Gigamon Glimpse instance.

Launch Gigamon Glimpse Console
Once the VM is up and running, follow the steps below to configure a Static IP:
1.
Log in to the Gigamon Glimpse Console using the default credentials: admin/admin123A!!.
2.
Use the following commands to configure and assign a static IP address to the VM.
