Ports & LEDs

The Port description and LED status of G-TAP A Series 2 are as described in below tables G-TAP A Series 2 Chassis Ports and G-TAP A Series 2 Chassis LED Status respectively.

Ports

Description

Management Ports

The Standard 10/100/1000 RJ45 Ethernet port supports remote connections to the GigaVUE‑OS using SSH .

Note:   Power over Ethernet connections (PoE) are not applicable for G-TAP A-TX21.

Console Ports

Initial tap configuration is performed in the G-TAP CLI over the serial RJ-45 Console port. Serial Console port accepts terminal connections for configuration of G-TAP A Series settings, including time, network, and SNMP settings.

Network & Tool Ports

The network ports tap the link .There are two network ports, NA, NB for each TAP ports .Tool ports feed the tapped data to connected tools. There are two tool ports, TA, TB .The relays or cross-point switches enable the bypass between network port NA and network NB when power is down and the backup battery drops below 5% of charge capacity. Network ports allow POE /POE + pass through.

G-TAP A-SF21 does not have relays to bypass traffic and will not function without main power supply or battery power.

SFP/SFP+ Ports

The G-TAP A-SF21 accepts SFP and SFP+ transceivers which allow 1Gb/10Gb fiber and copper interface. The transceivers in the monitor/tool ports must run at the same speed as those in the network ports, but they do not need to be the same medium.

Reset Button

The reset button allows to hard reset theG-TAP A Series 2.

Note:  It is recommended to halt the system using the "reload halt" command before utilizing the reset button to shutdown and avoid unwanted disk corruption.
