The reset command returns the GigaVUE® HC Series and GigaVUE® TA Series nodes to factory settings.

The reset command has the following syntax:

reset factory <all | all-with-halt | keep-all-config | keep-only-syslog | keep-ports | only-traffic>

The system reboots or halts after the process is completed.

The following table describes the arguments for the reset command:

reset factory <all | all-with-halt | keep-all-config | keep-only-syslog | keep-ports | only-traffic>

Specifies the portions of the system configuration to reset to factory defaults:

all— Resets all configuration files and log files, then reboots the system
all-with-halt—Resets all configuration files and log files, then halts the system instead of rebooting.
keep-all-config—Retains all configuration files but clears all log files, then reboots the system. Note that this command does not affect any configuration settings.
keep-only-syslog—Retains all log files but resets all configuration files, then reboots the system.
keep-ports— Retains system, chassis, cards, ports configuration and log files, but resets all other configuration files, then reboots the system.
only-traffic— Resets chassis, cards, ports, and traffic configuration, but retains system configuration, then reboots the system.

Examples:

(config) # reset factory all

(config) # reset factory all-with-halt

(config) # reset factory keep-all-config

(config) # reset factory keep-only-syslog

(config) # reset factory keep-ports

(config) # reset factory only-traffic

Note:  The commands reset factory all, reset factory all-with-halt and reset factory keep-only-syslog delete passwords on user accounts. When user Log in with the admin account, user will be prompted for a new password.

Note:   The commands reset factory all, reset factory all-with-halt, and reset factory keep-only-syslog enables ZTP by default, prompting it to automatically obtain an IP address and configuration boot file.

Note:  The commands reset factory keep-all-config, reset factory Keep-only-syslog, reset factory keep-ports and reset factory only-traffic applies to all node in the cluster.
