UCT-V

Universal Cloud Tap – Virtual Machine (UCT-V), formerly known as the G-vTAP Agent, is a standalone service that installs on a VM instance. UCT-V mirrors selected traffic from virtual machines to the GigaVUE V Series Node. UCT-V is available as:

  • Debian (.deb) package

  • Red Hat Package Manager (.rpm) package

  • ZIP file

  • MSI installer

Next-Generation UCT-V

The next-generation UCT-V is a lightweight solution that improves traffic acquisition and mirroring performance. It includes prefiltering at the tap level that:

  • Reduces traffic flow from UCT-V to the GigaVUE V Series Node

  • Lowers the load on the GigaVUE V Series Node

  • Improves overall efficiency

This version supports both Windows and Linux systems running Kernel 4.18 or later.

Benefits of Prefiltering

Prefiltering allows you to cut costs by filtering traffic at the UCT-V before it reaches the GigaVUE V Series Node. Using GigaVUE‑FM, you can:

  • Create prefiltering policy templates

  • Apply templates to monitoring sessions

  • Control which traffic is mirrored for analysis
