SNMPv3 User

You can manage the SNMPv3 user template from this page. GigaVUE-FM uses this SNMPv3 user configuration to register an SNMPv3 target on the GigaVUE-OS nodes. This setting applies to all nodes running GigaVUE-OS with version 6.8 and above.

To configure an SNMPv3 user, do the following:

  1. On the left navigation pane, click and select System > SNMP > SNMPv3 User.
  2. Enter the information for the SNMPv3 user.

    • Username—the name of the global template SNMPv3 user.
    • Authentication Protocol—the authentication type is either md5 or sha1 or sha256 or sha384 or sha512, which specifies the mechanism to use for password hashing.
    • Authentication Password—the password used to authenticate the user specified by Username.
    • Privacy Protocol—the privacy type specifies the level of encryption for the password, which is either des or aes-128 or aes-256.
    • Privacy Password—When the privacy type is selected, a privacy password can be configured and linked to a specific user by their Username. If no privacy type is specified but a privacy password is entered, the default privacy type will be set to aes-128.
  3. Click Apply to apply the configuration.
  4. Click the Sync button to synchronize the global SNMPv3 user configuration to all the applicable devices.
