Install GigaVUE‑FM using ISO Image File on VMware ESXi Host

You can install GigaVUE-FM on VMware ESXi host using the ISO image file. Follow the steps given below to install GigaVUE-FM using ISO image on ESXi host:

  1. Log in to the VMware ESXi host web interface.
  2. Upload the ISO image to the data store. Refer to Upload Files to Datastores section in the VMware Documentation for detailed information.
  3. After uploading the ISO image file, right-click a host in the VMware Host Client inventory and select Create/Register VM. The New Virtual Machine wizard opens.
  4. In the Select creation type tab, select Create a new virtual machine. Then, click Next.
  5. In the Select a name and guest OS tab,
    1. Enter a name for the virtual machine.
    2. Select the Guest OS family as Linux.
    3. Select the Guest OS version as Rocky Linux 8.8 (64-bit).
    4. Then, click Next.
  6. In the Customize settings tab, enter the CPU, Memory and Hard disk details. Refer to Minimum Requirements for more detailed information on minimum requirements required to install GigaVUE-FM.
    1. Click on Add Hard disk button to add two virtual disks to this VM. Each virtual disk must have a capacity of at least 40 GiB.
    2. Select a Network Adapter.
    3. In the CD/DVD Drive, select Datastore ISO file and the CD/DVD Media select the ISO image uploaded in Step 2. Ensure that the Connect check box for both Network Adopter and CD/DVD Drive is enabled.
    4. Then, click Next.
  7. Click Finish. Then, power on the virtual machine for the image to boot up.
  8. Note:   If you install GigaVUE-FM on ESXi version 8 host, change the boot option from EFI (default boot option) to BIOS before the first power on, as GigaVUE-FM supports only BIOS boot option.

  9. When the operation is complete, you have successfully deployed a GigaVUE‑FM instance.
