Virtual Network Interface Cards (vNICs)
You can configure OpenStack Cloud Instances with UCT-V to use one or more virtual network interface cards (vNICs):
Single vNIC: If the instance has only one interface, UCT-V sends mirrored traffic through that same interface.
Multiple vNICs: If the instance has two or more interfaces,
-
UCT-V monitors any number of interfaces.
-
You can send the mirrored traffic out using one of the interfaces or using a separate, non-monitored interface.
-
When you add multiple interfaces to the controller, the system uses a floating IP to designate the first interface as the management interface.
Note: vNICs are only applicable if the UCT-V is installed on the monitored instances. They do not apply to OVS Mirroring or OVS Mirroring +DPDK.
