Prerequisites for Gigamon Insights Deployment
Ensure to complete the following tasks in GigaVUE‑FM before you deploy Gigamon Insights:
Create a Role with Third Party Orchestration Write Permission

In GigaVUE‑FM, go to Settings > Authentication > GigaVUE‑FM User Management > Roles. Click New Role. |

In the New Role page, provide the following: |

|
Role Name – Enter a name for the role. |
|

|
Description – Enter a description. |
|
o
|
Select Permissions – In the Select Permissions tab: |
|
•
|
Select Third Party Orchestration |
|
•
|
Assign Write permission |
|

|
Click Apply. The new role is added. |
Create a User Group with the Third Party Orchestration Role
|
1.
|
In GigaVUE‑FM, go to Settings > Authentication > GigaVUE‑FM User Management > User Groups. |

|
Click New Group. Enter the following: |

Click Next and select the newly created role. |
|
4.
|
Select Assign tags (default). |
|
5.
|
Click Apply. The new user group is created. |
Create a User and Assign Both User Groups
|
1.
|
In GigaVUE‑FM, go to Settings > Authentication > GigaVUE‑FM User Management > Users. |
|
2.
|
On the User page, click New User. |
|
3.
|
In the Add User page, enter the following details: |

|
Name – Actual name of the user |
|
o
|
Username – Username configured in GigaVUE‑FM |
|
o
|
Password/Confirm Password – Password for the user |
|
o
|
Email – Email address of the user |
|
4.
|
Ensure the user is assigned to both groups. |
|
5.
|
Click OK. The new user is added. |
Generate an API Token
|
2.
|
In the left pane, click on the Settings and go to Authentication > GigaVUE‑FM User Management. |
|
3.
|
On the User Management page, click the Tokens drop-down menu and choose Current User Tokens, or generate a new token for the user. |
|
4.
|
If generating a new token: |

|
Enter the Name and Expiry |
|
5.
|
Copy the generated token and use it when deploying the instance. |
