Oracle Cloud Infrastructure

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) delivers a cloud-native visibility and analytics solution. It enables full network observability so you can:

  • Migrate workloads to the cloud

  • Optimize your existing cloud environment

Gigamon provides clear visibility into network traffic across your environment, helping you eliminate blind spots, reduce security and compliance risk, and resolve performance issues faster.

Traffic Acquisition

OCI captures network traffic from workloads running in OCI.

It uses a simple and efficient process:

  • Copies and mirrors traffic through tunnels.

  • Sends the traffic to GigaVUE V Series Nodes.

  • These nodes filter and process the packets.

  • The processed traffic goes to your security and monitoring tools.

Traffic can be aquired in several ways, including:

  • Universal Cloud Tap (UCT)

  • OCI Traffic Mirroring

Unified Data Visibility

The suite gives you a single, clear view of all data in motion. It works across single, hybrid, and multi-cloud networks.

OCI:

  • Collects traffic from any source

  • Optimizes it automatically

  • Delivers it to any destination

This end-to-end visibility helps your tools analyze raw packet data, application-layer information, and enriched metadata. You can detect threats, improve performance, and make better decisions faster.

Enriched Metadata

GigaVUE Enriched Metadata (GEM) turns raw packet data into actionable insights.

GEM:

  • Extracts and enriches metadata

  • Sends enriched data to security and analytics tools

  • Speeds up threat detection and performance monitoring

  • Links platform metadata with real packet data

Key Capabilities

OCI offers powerful features, including

  • Automatic discovery and deployment of visibility nodes in the platform.
  • Application of advanced traffic intelligence to optimize tool performance.
  • Support for both public cloud and hybrid cloud architectures.
  • Integration with OCI APIs for rapid detection of changes in the workloads.
  • Ability to extend on-premises security and monitoring tools to OCI environments.
