GigaVUE Licenses

Gigamon provides a range of software licenses to enable and manage features across its physical and cloud product portfolios. These licenses fall into distinct types, such as GigaVUE-FM, GigaVUE-OS, GigaVUE-OS Module, GigaSMART Application, and Cloud Licenses, each serving a specific function within your deployment.

To help you deploy and manage these licenses effectively, Gigamon licenses are categorized based on two key dimensions:

■   License Binding Model – Defines how a license is tied within your environment, whether it’s fixed to specific hardware, transferable (floating), or based on usage volume.
■   License Duration – Specifies how long a license remains valid, including options for evaluation, term-based subscription, and perpetual use.

The following sections outline the various license types, explain the license models, and provide deployment-specific guidance to ensure proper licensing and support alignment.
