Configure Secure Password

A secure password is a unique combination of letters, numbers, and symbols that is difficult for others to guess. Using strong passwords helps protect your accounts and sensitive information from unauthorized access.

Enable Secure Password Mode

To enable secure password mode:

1.   From the left pane, click (Inventory).
2. Select Nodes.
3. Click Cluster ID.
4. Go to Settings > Global Settings > Security.
5. Use the toggle button to enable the Secure Passwords option. The Secure Passwords are disabled by default.
6. Click Apply.

The system displays a notification that the security settings have been updated.

Set up the Secure Password

When you create a password from the User Setup page, the password must contain at least one character of each of the following:

■   at least 8 characters and up to a maximum of 64 characters in length
■   uppercase letters
■   lowercase letters
■   numbers
■   special characters, for example, !, @, #, $, %, ^, &, or *
■   at least eight characters must differ from the old password and the new password

In all cases, each character at every position is unique. Since the new password exceeds eight characters in length and satisfies all other criteria, it will be accepted.

To create a user and set the password:

1.   From the left pane, click (Inventory).
2. Select Nodes.
3. Click Cluster ID.
4. Go to Settings > Global Settings.
5. Select Roles and Users > Users.
6. On the User Setup page, click Add. The Add New User page appears.
7. Enter the account details for the user, including Name, Password, Current admin Password, New Password, and Confirm Password.
8. Click Save.
