Troubleshoot Flexible Inline Issues
This section lists the issues that may occur when you work with flexible inline issues and the steps to troubleshoot such issues. Refer to the following sections for details:
Problem Description: In your flexible inline solution, you may notice that the heartbeat status of the inline tools that are part of your solution is not operationally up.
Corrective Actions: Here are the list of tasks that you need to perform to troubleshoot this issue:
-
In the inline tool port pair for which the heartbeat status is not operationally up, verify the following:
-
Heartbeat is enabled on the inline tool port pair. For details, refer to Configure Inline Tool Ports and Inline Tools.
-
Operational status of inline tool ports are up.
-
Using GigaVUE‑FM—From the Physical Nodes page, select the required GigaVUE node, and then go to Inline Bypass > Inline Tools. View the Operational State column of the inline tool.
-
Using GigaVUE‑OS CLI—Run the # show inline-tool command to display the status of the inline tool ports.
-
-
-
In the GigaVUE node that is part of the tool layer of your topology, verify the following:
-
The network port pair of the GigaVUE node is configured to accept the heartbeat packets. For details, refer to Configure Inline Network Ports and Inline Network.
-
Operational status of inline network ports are up, inline network traffic path is configured as To Inline Tool, and the forwarding state of the inline network is Normal.
-
Using GigaVUE‑FM—From the Physical Nodes page, select the required GigaVUE node, and then go to Inline Bypass > Inline Networks. View the Status, Traffic Path, and Forwarding State columns of the inline network.
-
Using GigaVUE‑OS CLI—Run the # show inline-network command.
-
-
The operational status of the inline tools or inline tool groups that are associated with the inline network is up.
-
The health status of the GigaVUE node is up. For details, refer to Node Health Status.
-
Problem Description: In your flexible inline solution, you may notice that the heartbeat packets are dropped at the inline network.
Corrective Actions: Here are the list of tasks that you need to perform to troubleshoot this issue:
-
Check if the forwarding state of the inline network is Normal.
-
Using GigaVUE‑FM—From the Physical Nodes page, select the required GigaVUE node, and then go to Inline Bypass > Inline Networks. View the Forwarding State column of the inline network.
-
Using GigaVUE‑OS CLI—Run the # show inline-network command.
-
-
Check if the operational status of the inline tools or inline tool groups that are associated with the inline network is up.
-
Check if the maps that are part of the flexible inline solution are configured as flexible inline maps. For details, refer to About Flexible Inline Maps.
