GigaVUE-TA400 Rules and Notes

Keep in mind the following notes and rules when using the GigaVUE-TA400:

For details about the supported transceiver, cable type, and connectivity specifications, refer to “GigaVUE-OS Compatibility and Interoperability Matrix”.

Network, Tool, Hybrid, Port

Any port on GigaVUE-TA400 can be used as network, tool and hybrid ports.


Stacking is not supported on GigaVUE-TA400 in 5.15 release.

Map Rules and Port Filters

GigaVUE-TA400 supports 256 map rules, 20 egress port filters per chassis by default without advance feature license.

The outer VLAN tool port filter to match the ingress VLAN tag and IP fragmentation tool port filters are supported on GigaVUE-TA400 starting from 5.15 release.

For details about the maximum map rules, refer to the "Maximum Map Rules" table in the GigaVUE-FM Users Guide.

The port filter having VLAN and IPv6 fields is not supported except with individual fields.

Header Stripping

VXLAN, L2 MPLS and L3 MPLS header stripping features are supported on GigaVUE‑TA400 starting from 5.15 release.


Layer 2 Generic Routing Encapsulation (L2GRE) and Virtual Extensible LAN (VXLAN) Tunneling features are supported on GigaVUE‑TA400 starting from 5.15 release.

Port Licensing

On the GigaVUE-TA400, all 32 ports are enabled. Port license is not required.

Cluster Licensing

Clustering is not supported on GigaVUE‑TA400 in 5.15 release.
