Module and Port Numbering

Network and tool ports are numbered using standard conventions. The numbering is displayed in the module faceplates and also in the Chassis view when hovering over a port. On faceplates, the ports are numbered are as follows:

400Gb Ports

Numbered with a leading D. For example, the GigaVUE-TA400 built-in module includes 32 400Gb/100Gb/ 40Gb QSFP-DD/ QSFP28/QSFP+ ports.

100Gb Ports

Numbered with a leading C. For example, the SMT-HC3-C05 includes five 100Gb ports C1 to C5.

40Gb Ports

Numbered with a leading Q. For example, the PRT-HC0-Q06 includes 40Gb ports Q1 to Q6.

25Gb/10Gb/1Gb Ports

Numbered with a leading X. For example, the PRT-HC3-X24 includes twenty-four 25Gb ports X1 to X24.

10/100/1000 Ports

Numbered with a leading G. For example, the PRT-HC1-X12G4 includes 10/100/1000 ports G1 to G4.

The port labels on the module faceplates use upper-case C, Q, X, and G characters to identify ports. However, Chassis View (and H-VUE) uses lowercase notation to refer to ports (for example, c1, q1, x4, and g1).

When displaying ports in Chassis View (and H-VUE), the format is box ID/slot ID/port ID. For example, 1/1/x6 refers to box 1, slot 1, port X6.

On chassis with multiple slots/bays, the slots or bays are numbered as follows:

■   GigaVUE‑HC1and GigaVUE-HC1-Plus: Bays are numbered as follows:
o   the base chassis in the center, is numbered 1
o   the left module is numbered 2
o   the right module is numbered 3
■   GigaVUE‑HC2: Bays are numbered 1-4 from left upper, left lower, right upper to right lower.
■   GigaVUE‑HC3: Bays are numbered 1-4 from left upper, left lower, right upper to right lower.
