Create User-defined Tag
Note: All other uses can only view the tags depending on the role of the user and can only associate resources only to those tags.
1. | On the right side of the top navigation bar, click ![]() |
2. | On the left navigation pane, select Tags. |
3. | In the Tag page, click New. |

4. | Enter or select the appropriate details: |

Description |
Name | Name of the tag |
Description | Brief description for the tag |
Multi Valued | Indicate if the tag is multivalued. This is the default value. |
Values | Values for the tag. Type the tag values and click Enter. |
5. | Click OK. The new tag is added to the list view. |
To add clusters, ports, port groups, GigaSMART groups, GigaStream, or port pairs or all of them to the new tag:
- Click on the tag key for which you need to add resources. The Resource Tags: <tag name> view is displayed.
- Click New. The New Tag view is displayed.
- Select the required tag key from the Value drop-down.
- Click Add Items to add the required items to the tag value.
- From the Item Type drop-down list, select Cluster. All the clusters managed by GigaVUE-FM is displayed.
- Select the clusters from the table.
- Click Add. The clusters are added to the New Tag page.
To add ports, port groups, GigaSMART groups, GigaStream, and port pairs to the new tag:
- From the Item Type drop-down list, select the type.
- From the Node drop-down list, select a cluster ID. The source type associated to the selected cluster is displayed.
- Select the source types from the table.
- Click Add. The selected source types are added to the New Tag page.
